Ladysmith is a consultancy that partners with multilateral agencies to design and execute gender-sensitive research projects. Their work focuses on addressing critical global challenges such as humanitarian crises, women’s economic empowerment, Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), gender-based violence, climate issues, women’s health, and care work. By collaborating with organizations like UNICEF, UN Women, CARE International, and Save the Children, Ladysmith supports the development of strategies and programs that prioritize gender equity and social justice in policy and practice. At Ladysmith, I lead various projects aimed at advancing gender-sensitive approaches in different sectors. For example, for CARE International, I developed a gender-just climate strategy for the UK government, providing key recommendations to the UK government. I conducted a global analysis of adolescent girls’ and young women’s leadership for Save the Children and led a Gender Programmatic Review for UNICEF Ethiopia, focusing on gender-responsive humanitarian and economic empowerment strategies. Additionally, I contributed to UN Women’s 2024 World Survey on social protection, managed a project mapping pro-rights organizations countering the global pushback against gender equality, and developed tools for UNICEF’s Gender Section to address gendered barriers to immunization. Across these projects, I bring together research, stakeholder engagement, and targeted recommendations to ensure that gender equity is at the forefront of decision-making.
